NEW FOR 2017
There are over 1,500 car park spaces within walking distance of our show ground, and a beautiful carpet of wild flowers on either side of the path winding down from the A689 to the Kynren entrance. However, we recognise not everyone wishes to walk, so, for 2017, we have introduced a new fully integrated Park & Ride system, with shuttle buses operating to and from the Kynren show ground from each of our car parks. And of course, the wild flowers will still be there for everyone who chooses to ‘Park & Walk’ to enjoy.
Please note that you will need to buy your shuttle bus transfers (£2 return fare) when ordering your show tickets, as you will NOT be able to buy them later separately, or on the night of the performance itself. Therefore, please take a moment to decide which is right for you: Park & Walk, or Park & Ride. Approximate walking times from the various car parks are indicated for each as you book your space.
Once you have arrived at the ticket and security check on the Kynren site – whether you have reached us through Park & Walk or Park & Ride – there is a further 350m walk along a mostly flat path to reach the Tribune area and its facilitie, the Food Village and toilets.
We have a wide range of facilities and arrangements in place to ensure visitors with disabilities and low mobility are well looked after. If you are concerned that walking to the Tribune or to your seat will present difficulties, please read the information on accessibility arrangements here.
In the CAR PARK section, you’ll find information to help you make up your mind as to what may suit you best.
Bishop Auckland College has kindly made its parking facilities available for Kynren visitors* across the 17 shows. We are grateful for Bishop Auckland College’s ongoing support to Eleven Arches.
Please note, shuttle bus transfers MUST be booked in advance at time of booking your tickets.
Please be aware there will be strict parking controls in adjacent roads and the town centre to discourage ‘fly’ parking on show nights and minimise inconvenience to our neighbours.
* No income is passed on to Bishop Auckland College, and all car parking charges paid by Kynren visitors are solely to cover the complex traffic management system across the season. Bishop Auckland College has offered the use of their car park spaces free of charge in order to support us in our goal to make Kynren a sustainable show which can continue for generations to come.
